The festive season is fast approaching, which for some can mean endless gatherings, delicious food, good company and probably a little less exercise than usual. It's important that during this time, the hard work accumulated throughout the year is not undone!
To me, this is the best time of year. Not only is it great to catch up with family and friends, but it's a good opportunity to reflect on the year just gone, whilst at the same time, planning for the year ahead. Now is the time to start thinking about your 2014 goals - what will you use to motivate you throughout the year? I used to print out my goals and stick them next to my computer. However, now I utilise my iPad, save some trees, and give myself 'tasks' to complete throughout the year!
This year we saw several Brisbane Burners achieve their 'tasks'. Over the past two months since our lost blog, we have had eight runners complete the Melbourne Marathon in what was a fun-filled weekend with good food, company and impressive finishing times (with many personal bests)!
The Noosa Triathlon also provide two of the Brisbane Burners with a personal best time in hot conditions. A few of the Brisbane Burners were backing up after Melbourne and whilst not producing a personal best on race day, they came very close.
Many of the 'Burners' have given themselves new 'tasks' for 2014 - what will yours be?
